A weekend by the Ocean

This past weekend myself, and five of my childhood/highschool best friends gathered together from all over the province, to meet in the gorgeous island town of Sooke, BC.

These ladies are the best of the best. We may not speak everyday, but we have stayed connected in each others lives over the past fifteen (or so) years.

Like many people, COVID brought us all together again through the power of Zoom!

What started as casual check ins, escalated quickly into virtual "murder mystery" parties, and then into planning a much deserved holiday.

We are all in different areas of life, but yet have so much in common.

A teacher, a nurse, an outdoorsy OT, a Reiki healer, a norther BC mama of two, and myself, all together on the Ocean, with good food, good wine, and most importantly an abundance of laughter, was just what our souls needed.

We had no big plans, aside from exploring the area, and of course... a murder mystery party.

Some of my highlights of the trip were the simple moments, like strolling the beach in the mornings, looking for unique rocks and ocean trinkets, to feeding sea anemones, to catching a moment of quiet alone, listening to ocean waves and enjoying a cup of tea.

You know those moments in life, where you feel true, deep happiness in your heart and soul... almost right into your throat. Where you wish time would just pause, and sometimes it almost feels as though it does. Where you feel absolutely present, and content. That is what my weekend felt like. And after the exhaustion of the past couple years, and the ups and downs of everyday life, I truly felt like I was EXACTLY where I was meant to be.

Of course by Monday morning as we said our farewells, my heart ached for my children and husband, and I was ready to get home.

I feel refreshed, and with a relit spark for life.

I already can't wait for the next "ladies trip," but until then, Zoom parties will be suffice!

I couldn't have not captured a few images , of these insanely beautiful beings, and I hope you enjoy a snippet into our beautiful weekend!
